Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the YouAssistant extension, website and account services process, why they process it, and how to contact us about your data.

Local extension and cloud sync

When you do not sign in or use cloud sync, extension category settings remain in your browser. If you choose cloud sync, category settings are sent to the sync service to restore and sync them across devices. Website visits and account sign-in involve the processing described below, even without a Pro purchase or cloud sync.

Google sign-in: information and purposes

When you click Google sign-in, Google provides a credential that may contain your email, email verification status, unique Google account identifier (sub), name, profile picture URL, and token issuance and expiry information. We verify the credential, find or create a YouAssistant account by email, and establish a session. The current flow stores your email, an email-derived username and site account records; it does not populate your profile with the Google name or picture, or separately persist the Google identifier. Google credentials are used for authentication. Sign-in itself does not request access to YouTube subscriptions, viewing history or Gmail content, and we do not receive your Google password.

Account security and browser storage

Registration and sign-in store registration/login IP addresses, timestamps and necessary account records for account management, sessions and security. Browser local storage holds the site session token and expiry information to authenticate later requests. Language, theme and currency preferences may be stored locally or in cookies. Signing out clears the site session token in the current browser.

Website analytics, payments and support

When Google Analytics is enabled on the website, Google processes page visits, visit times, referral sources, browser/device information and cookies or similar identifiers to measure traffic and improve the website. This processing is separate from the extension’s local storage mode. Payment providers process checkout information; we process necessary email, order, subscription, payment and refund records to provide paid services and notices. When you contact support, we process the email and feedback you provide to respond and troubleshoot. We do not sell personal information or use this account information for third-party marketing.

Service providers and protection

Google provides sign-in and, when enabled, website analytics; payment providers handle checkout. These providers process necessary data under their own privacy policies, potentially outside your country or region. We use HTTPS and access controls to protect transmission and account services. Cloud protection depends on the sync feature used.

Retention, deletion and contact

We retain relevant records as needed to provide services, maintain security and meet necessary order record obligations. You can manage or delete local settings in the extension, clear browser session and preference data, and email support@getyouassistant.com to request access, correction or deletion of account and cloud data. We verify requests and explain the outcome and any records that must be retained. Updates are published here with a revised date.
